About Us

Our Roots
Bible Baptist Church was established in the city of Bloomington, Illinois, in 1965. We are an independent Baptist church, not affiliated with any organization. Our building and parking area have undergone renovation and expansion to meet our growth. The building is ADA-compliant, so it is easily accessible from street level and easily navigable inside. An elevator connects the main floor with the downstairs Fellowship Hall.

Our Services
Our church family is comprised of all ages. Friendliness permeates our services, yet the atmosphere displays an appropriate reverence for God. Our services are intended to bring people God's Word and glorify the Lord through biblical preaching and traditional hymns and gospel songs. Our music—whether congregational, choral, solo, or small group-—is warm and stirring, but we refrain from using Contemporary Christian music.

We feature hearing assistance and signing for the hearing-impaired.

Our Vision
The strength of the church is the home. Bible Baptist Church depends on each home to be "strong in the Lord and in the power of His might" (Ephesians 6:10). Whether our members are single, retired, newlyweds, empty-nesters, or parents with children at home, we strive to teach the importance of serving the Lord in all that is done. We work with the home by providing teaching ministries and wholesome recreational activities for different age groups.  Please see our Activities page.

At the same time that we seek to provide a vibrant local ministry that reaches into the community through our church family, we also strongly support world missions and send our prayers and financial assets to missionaries worldwide. We have an annual Faith Promise Missions Conference to emphasize the importance Christ puts on missionary support by His churches.
